Chromagen has signed a contract with a subsidiary of Australia’s Liberty Oil Pty Ltd. to export solar systems to Australia.
Initial exports will total $800,000, and reach $1.5 million by the end of 2005. Chromagen had $10 million in exports in 2004. Chromagen VP Amos Pasternak said the solar water heaters would be marketed in Australia by Liberty Oil’s 70 distributors at ten distribution and service centers across the country.
Chromagen expects to win 10% of the Australian solar energy systems market, estimated at 700,000 units, within three years.
Chromagen manufactures and markets solar water heaters, thermo-tanks, solar energy systems, and solar panels. It will market 50 models of solar water heaters, solar panels, and solar energy systems in Australia. It is the only Israeli company participating in an Australian government program to encourage the use of solar water heaters, and has spent $100,000 to adapt its systems to the Australian standard.
Chromagen exports solar systems to 40 countries, especially Spain, Italy, Greece, and Germany.
