Application Review
Once submitted, your application will undergo a review process by the responsible manager who grants electrical licenses. The manager will assess the correlation between your education and experience in electrical work abroad and the requirements in Israel. You do not need to be present during the review process.
The review will consider the list of electrical professions studied abroad, as well as practical tasks performed primarily in the industrial sector and other areas such as maintenance, services, residential buildings, public buildings, and more.
Professional Interview Invitation
If required, based on the obtained information, the manager may invite you to a professional interview regarding your past tasks performed abroad. During the interview, your qualifications and experience in electrical work will be evaluated.
Electrical Terminology Glossaries in Different Languages
To help you prepare for the interview, glossaries of electrical terminology in different languages are available. These glossaries will also be provided during the interview.
Upgrade of License Based on Foreign Experience
After your application has been processed, and you have obtained the license, paid the fee, and started working in the electrical field in Israel, you can request an upgrade to a higher-level license based on your proven foreign experience in electrical work.
Recognition of experience gained abroad can be granted for up to 2/3 of the required experience period, meaning that you will only need to fulfill 1/3 of the specified experience period in the electrical regulations.
Please be aware that you can request a license upgrade based on accumulated experience abroad only once!
Completion of the License Application Process
Upon approval from the manager to issue electrical licenses, it is necessary to pay the license fee. The license is considered valid only when accompanied by the payment confirmation.
To make the license fee payment:
You can choose one of the following methods to pay the fee:
1. Payment through the government’s online payment website, where you need to verify your identity using your ID number or passport number along with the reference number, which is indicated in the request approval letter. (שירות התשלומים הממשלתי)
2. Payment through the personal government portal, where you need to verify your identity using your ID number. Payment can be made without the need for a reference number. (אזור אישי ממשלתי)
In exceptional cases, when no alternative payment method is available, and only after contacting the Electricians Licensing Department, a payment voucher will be issued. This voucher can be used to make cash payment at the Postal Bank only.
